The world begins when he is near
His beauty brings light to all
His smile makes the sky seem so clear
And birds answer to his call.
If we could only be as one
And defy nature’s law
We can never be undone
Love so sweet, so sour, so raw
I am no star, no dazzling light
Yet his touch warms my heart
So I brighten the sky every night
Praying he will not depart
For I am the moon and he is the sun
And we can never be together
He is the day, and I am the night
But our love will last forever.
